Chilly Willy's Playa Weather Service

Post by Just_Joe » Mon Aug 16, 2010 8:34 pm

Want to know what that wind gust that almost destroyed your shade structure measured? Was it really 110 in the shade today?

To find out, come on over and shoot the breeze with us at Chilly Willy's Playa Weather Service.
Extremes for temperature, humidity and wind as well as forecasts will be posted on a daily basis.

Our location is yet to be determined, but you can find us by looking for the blue/purple lighted mast in the evening, white and purple flag during the daytime, or Chilly Willy the Penguin out front 24/7.

Nothing too fancy- A Davis VP2 w/USB datalogger (no solar). I just picked up a backup to my backup and am going to give it a workout.
Of course I'll share . Bring a laptop w/weatherlink or wait till post burn and I'll upload everything to my website.

Sweet! I have a Davis Pro myself so I got all the gizmos to work the data.

I can wait for the download or bring a USB keyfob.

Either way, thanks for the uber-geek!

As of this afternoon, the National Weather Services forecast has upped the chance of rain this coming weekend (pre event).

The threat of rain will be with us Sat and Sun due to a low moving in from the north. Chance of rain is greatest Saturday night- 50%. This system will bring cool temperatures. Sunday high will be ~ 70 with a low around 50 for all of the Monday morning arrivals.

Once all this icky weather passes through on Monday, temps should rise to normal through the week so take heart, all you burners looking to wear *just* your tutus, the warm weather will return!

Stay tuned for the "big weekend" forecast....

And visit us on the Playa...It looks like we'll be be set up at the Edinburgh @ 4:00 neighborhood.

Edit: speling.

Thanks so much for this info. We've decided to push our arrival forward a day so as not to deal with the goop.
