I know that you can't store gas for long periods of time without it degrading. But what about oil? Does it have a shelf life?
Thanks,

Question about Motor Oil

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Re: Question about Motor Oil
Mobil 1 recommends a shelf life of 5 years. Caveats: The container has to stay sealed. Otherwise if moisture gets in, all bets are off once it's went through a few heating and cooling cycles.jkisha wrote:I know that you can't store gas for long periods of time without it degrading. I've used oil in non-critical small engines that was over 22 years old without trouble. YMMV.
Back to the gas comment Stabil is a wonderful thing for long term gasoline storage.
