the ride back to the default world

Hey, Bay Area Burners. If driving back from Auburn today was any indication, getting back to the default world is going to be an exercise in patience. Traffic was stop and go from Roseville on for no apparent reason. May be better on I 5, or not. Just be ready for a slow trip back.

Another reason to leave on Tuesday. If your boss asks why you were not at work, simply say, "I'm sorry, I forgot."

Re: Auburn area on 80.... big speedtrap there, coming down out of the mountains. I got a ticket there last year on Sunday on my way home. HIghway patrol, getting on and off the freeway and going back for more. Reminded me of a fish boil on the ocean, with the little fry jumping in the air to avoid big fish, and the birds swooping around to get them too, and us, trying to get our boat there quick enough to catch some tuna.

Elorrum is absolutely correct. One of the most notorious speed traps in the state is set up from Exit 115 (Newcastle) down to Exit 112 (Penryn). They patrol from Horseshoe Bar Road to Newcastle Road, which is the Rocklin-Loomis-Newcastle corrodor. They always use radar, travel in pairs or threes, and I have seen five or more cars pulled over at a time. I never ever speed in Placer County.

I went to Reno from Chico and back this weekend across hwy 70. No construction, no traffic, and only about 3 CHP the whole way to 395, then did see about 4 NHP from the junction into/out of Reno.
What other people think about you is none of your business.
