(INTERNATIONAL) -- What in the world is in the water at Brazil’s Carnival?
Whatever it is it must be potent stuff since Brazil's health ministry is planning to give away 89 million – that is MILLION with an M - free condoms during the Rio Carnival, which got underway with street parties Friday.
And get this: that number is 26 million more condoms than were handed out last year.
Evidently during Carnival in Brazil there’s some heavy-duty world class fornicating that goes on.
However the condom giveaway is actually for a sound medical reason, not to promote promiscuity – which apparently already exists in abundance at Carnival time.
The reason for the love-glove giveaway is that there are an estimated 630,000 Brazilians infected with the AIDs virus and young people are most likely to contract AIDS, according to Brazil health officials.
