Hello Playa Family! From a first time burner!

Post by tSmalls » Mon Jun 20, 2011 9:29 pm

I just wanted to introduce myself! I'm Tyler and I'm a first time burner this year...though not from a lack of desire. I first heard of this magical place called "home" in a 2004 summer, when I first got out into the world on my own. Every since that evening, I long dreamed of going "home" myself. Unfortunately after several failed attempts, it never came to fruition. Until now of course! This year I bought my ticket the day they came out and I declared that come hell or high water, I'm going "home" this year! A suppose this year is fitting. Indeed Burning Man shall be a right of passage in itself! I just wanted to convey my utter joy that I can't even really contain within myself anymore. It has been 7 years coming and finally I can say that in 74 days I will be a citizen of Black Rock City. I cannot wait to meet as many of you as possible. The thought of sharing and contributing to this culture, basking in the sun-drenched sands and soaking up the beautiful artistic energy makes the wait palpable. If any one has suggestions or comments, please say hello. I'd love to talk. See you all not soon enough. :D

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi Tyler! Welcome! Congratulations on getting to the right year. :)

This has been long in coming, so I assume you've read the most recent Survival Guide, yes?

Advice is hard to give in a wildly general sense, but specific questions, clearly researched first in the Q&A forum, tend to be the most nicely received.

Tyler, welcome to eplaya!

I'm glad you could finally make it this year!
What changed this year that is allowing you to make the journey Home?

You'll find that the most prepared people tend to be people that have wanted to go for a long time!

Have fun and we look forward to meeting you!
Why don't ya stick your head in that hole and find out? ~piehole
