Helllllooooo!
I am making sure this year is my first year, i have been letting too many things stand in my way past years. I moved to missoula 6 months ago and would love it if anyone knew about a burner fam in the area or a crew that is going. I got my first ride on the Ghetto Gypsy a couple weekends ago that have the camp cockwaffles i think-. I know alot of people that are going but i have yet to join a camp. i could use some advice on what steps to do next. If i want to just GO can i just join a camp or should i stick with friends. I lived in seattle before and would love to ride down with peeps from there as well
so excited to meet all your crazy beautiful souls!

Welcome to ePlaya!
I'd say, read EVERYTHING... twice!
Then decide what you want to do.
Kinda sounds like you have some prep to still do.
But, I'm totally excited that you finally get to come to Burning Man!
Look forward to meeting you in the dust!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!
Have questions? Read this first: http://www.burningman.com/first_timers/
Everybody on eplaya is always excited to help first timers; but in sympathy for some of us old timers, please get your required reading out of the way before posting. As hard as it is to rein in the the excitement and enthusiasm, and as unbelievable as it might seem, most of your questions have already been asked and answered, if you just take a moment to read.
Now, let the adventure begin!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi Lily,
If you need a rideshare, post here:
http://rideshare.burningman.com
Also, click on "Regionals" from the top of the Burning Man main site, and then on the U.S. Map and then on Montana. You can add yourself to the Montana regional announcement list.
Note that the typical rideshare arrangement involves just a ride--rather than a person/people to camp with--so you may want to have a look at the 2011 Theme Camps forum several lines under the Introduce Yourself forum, and look for a compatible camp, then write to them. However, plenty of people go without a camp if they have a little camping skill, or are traveling with one or more people who do. Theme camps involve comforts, but also responsibility. If you go solo, it's as spartan or as grandiose as you make it, and you can still visit theme camps whenever you like.
