What giddy x 100 feels like to this BM virgin right now

Post by pchops » Tue Aug 02, 2011 5:42 pm

A combination of getting a recent face value ticket from craigslist after a bad move stalling on an initial purchase, continued increasing excitement amongst those I'm camping with, some recent fun clothing acquisitions, giving coworkers a heads up about my out of office time, and re-reading some posts I've read in years past but now are WAY more applicable now as I continue to prepare for my first burn makes me feel like this..... Image

Feel it's the best way to describe what giddy to an exponential value of 10 feels like right now.

Thanks to all of ya'll for being such a constant source of information, tips, sarcasm and entertainment via these forums. Pumped to go from being a message board voyeur to event participant in just a few weeks and hopefully putting some faces to screen names.

Cheers,

Paul

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Pchops, it only gets better. Come to the meet & greet and/or stop by M*A*S*H 4207th for a late night watching of the old show & a cold something.

Don't worry, giddy can be cured with large amounts of dust and fire.

Pchops... just wait. If you arrive at night, look off into the desert just before you cross the tracks heading into Gerlach. You'll see a glow way up there. That's home and you're only a few miles now from pulling off the pavement and into the dust.

Oh pchops.... You have no idea. :D  8)

BRC is like no other place in the world and this year it will be even better because you're there!

I'm going to second that invitation. Please stop by and say hello... Participate in our art project, watch and episode of M*A*S*H, or whatever. 3:30 & A

Well pchops, I know how you feel. I can't get to sleep thinking about being there. I'vee been looking forward to going foe over a year now. A friend of mine coached me through a lot of what I needed to know, and I'm glad he did! Then I got more schooling from the good people in here, and I believe I'm actually read for my Rites of Passage!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

a week since my initial post, would say non burning man related productivity is embarrassingly low and at times have to just sit back and laugh to myself at the medley of browser tabs I have open at any given time and what the higher 'priority' items are on my to do lists.

this weekend it's been car port/shade structure shopping, which sadly hasn't netted anything positive. (seems costco 10x20's are the most recommended and non available in SF and others I've seen seem to fragile, even if supported with rebar. will keep reading through to see if there's another solid option i can order online this week, any recommendations from anyone reading this?)

big priority tomorrow is fabric shopping/home depot shopping to decorate flair out the playa bike i just picked up on CL, later this week will set my newly acquired kodiak tent in my place and start making plans for how to make it a lil more homely.and to finalize cooler layout plans. awesome list of things to have to think of. and in the midst, guess i have some client presentations and such, which i'll be simultaneously thinking about creative uses for led lights.

thanks for all the shared tidbits of excitement. each of the past weekends in SF you can feel the build up of excitement, yesterday at PublicWorks anyone not dancing was discussing their gifting plans, the joys and struggles of dry ice, adding flair to goggles and tons of other helpful and fun lessons learned.
