I am building a six sided pyramid on a raised platform to live in at burning man. I would like to be able to sleep during the day so I thought I would cover the panels/sides with heat reflective material rather than shading the structure from above. Has anyone tried this? I have seen a material called AstroFoil on the web at:

Has anyone used this or known someone who has? How effective is it?
Thanks.
Jesse

Looks like there's plenty of product literature at the Astrofoil website. Says to always install it on the inside of the walls/roof, and keep it away from old wiring and light fixtures. Could staple it under plywood or quilt it onto the underside of a tarp, I suppose.

Reflectix ROCKS!
I've used Relflectix covered geodesic domes for the last two years and they keep us cool and protected in even the most brutal temperatures. Last year we brought both a 24' and a 16', which we covered in Reflectix panels that the fine people at http://www.pacificdomes.com pre-cut for us into the proper sizes.
It does require some finesse to tape all the panels together into a tight cover, but it works great, isn't too expensive and keeps ya cool.
Triple thumbs up from this burner,

Reflectix Install
Nick,
Was reflectix the only layer of material covering your dome or did you install it as a second layer? If so, what was the other layer and did you install it over or under the reflectix?
Thanks.
