I posted this on Craig's List NYC in hopes of helping under equipped camps.

As follows:

I've been reading the posts on eplaya from the varied camps coming to this years Burning Man Festival outside of Reno. There are some pathetic situations of people trying to have a nice party thing going but have no mixer, CD decks and weak sound systems.

So here's what I'd like to do:

If you have an old stereo DJ mixer (radio shack, numark, gemini, etc. that you don't use, or a working dual deck, or a working power amp or powered stereo mixer that is eating up space in the attic or basement and you would like to see it used at this year's Burning Man, email me.

I can fit some stuff in with my gear and I'll "gift" it to a camp in need. Maybe I can arrange to have it go on the container truck if it's big. Look, I know this is crazy, but it's NY and I'm sure this gets to a warm spot on some of you?

What this will do is to open up more opportunities for DJ's who want to perform. So open your hearts and unload some of that working (but not being used) stuff that you just don't care about any more.

The situation is that the playa is rough on equipment and people just don't want to bring their good gear. Who can blame them?
