Beaucoup Bucks Camp Plans to Burn Up More Money at BM04

The Beaucoup Bucks Camp is back for the most exciting social event of the year… Burning Man 2004.

Not content to rest on their well-toned laurels, the BBC, in their second year at Burning Man (who knew 2003 was the camp’s first year? With that perfect blend of professionalism and debauchery you would have thought they’d been doing this all their young lives…) plan for a bigger and better burn, sure to be both fondly remembered and drunkenly forgotten by all who are allowed to attend.

This year the Beaucoup Bucks Camp will once again host three of the most exciting events at Black Rock City: The Second Annual White Party (held at the legendary Chez Moi de Moné nightclub), Black Rock City’s Next Top Stripper, and the Wad of Wishes Burn, where you get to live out your dream of burning money. (Just repeat to yourself, “It’s only paper! It’s only paper! It’s only paper!”) Additionally, the BBCampers will be spreading the love with daily events featuring food, fashion, and art: Quad's Eye for the Playa Guy, wherein fabulous fashionista Quad Princess, head designer of NYC’s hot couture house miss halo 5, will upgrade grateful attendees from Birkie-wearing trance hippies to happenin’ hotties; Ming’s Fire and Ice, a delectable treat presented by Ming (creator of last year’s successful Bing!) offered at the camp beginning 1 pm each day; Orbitale, a large scale sculpture designed by Mathias and Jan , that will have you seeing the planets on a nightly basis; and the beautiful and ethereal DIY art of The Flash of Temporary Shadows, (presented by the beautiful Amy Shapiro) every day at twilight, where participants create lush ephemeral shadow art. Also returning this year is the successful and strenuous Twirl Off Gym, where you can hone your twirling skillz in a fun social atmosphere.

Beaucoup Bucks Camp, a satirical band of trickster socialites and iconoclasts, holds no cows sacred. While making fun of the New York City dollar-driven night-life culture, they also gently poke fun at the Burning Man ideal of eschewing all currency by making their own money. Their act of burning money at the end of week symbolically releases participants from the hold money may have on them in their every day lives. You will probably have to bribe someone at the camp, but only BBC money will be accepted.

Ming's Fire and Ice
1pm until whenever we run out
Come by the Beaucoup Bucks Camp during the hottest time of the day and sample this delicious treat, courtesy of Ming (the creator of Bing!) Do bring your own cup and spoon! And come back later in the evening for a special evening treat!

Quad's Eye for the Playa Guy
Sporadically during the day.
From Fashion Avenue to Center Camp, the mastermind behind the hottest independent haute couture house in NYC, miss halo 5 (http://www.misshalo5.com), offers personal consultation with a twist! Be filmed as Miss Quad Princess (designer/stylist of miss halo 5) styles you! You can come to her (she'll be dj'ing at KSVERT radio - time TBA) or she can come to you!!

The Flash of Temporary Shadows
Evenings Midweek
Create lasting shadows! Stand in front of the phosphorescent screen, strike a pose, and flash the light. Like magic your shadow will be visible on the screen for a minute or more. Create shadow art with your body, other bodies, or any props you have on hand.

Beaucoup Bucks Camp Wad of Wishes Drive
All day at the camp
In reaching our goal of burning a hell of a lot of money this week, we request that you come by and submit the wish that you want to come true on an official BBC bill, to be added to the wad of wishes that will be burned later this week. Don’t you want your wishes to come true? And don’t you want to see us burn a lot of money? Talk to one of our members about how you can "contribute" to the wad.

ONE-TIME EVENTS

Twirl Off Gym!
Monday, 7pm
Come have fun and keep your bodies fit by twirling hoops, batons, flags, staff, poi and whatever else you can get your hands on at our twirling facilities! Highly recommended by our fitness guru. Bring your own twirling implements, supplies, and tricks, if you have any! Sharing is HIGHLY encouraged! 45 minutes, just like a real work out.

Grand Re-Opening of the Chez Moi Da Moné - Black Rock City - White Party
Tuesday, 9pm
The Beaucoup Bucks Camp cordially invites you to the grand re-opening of the "Chez Moi Da Moné - Black Rock City" complete with ribbon cutting ceremony!
Dress code: White, to represent as the God and Goddess that you are! Show up without white? Be prepared to strip and wear a specialty haute couture, courtesy of our resident stylist. The score: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - 9:05 SHARP (show up at 9 to get in line!!) Afterwards - the champagne flow and partying commences!

Black Rock City's Next Top Stripper
Wednesday, 3pm
You thought that America's Next Top Model II was something? Guess again. We're returning to crown Black Rock City's Next Top Male and Female Stripper on this very day and date. Judged by our esteemed panel of NYC socialites and social climbers.
Winners will receive limited edition t-shirts and have $1 million Beaucoup Bucks burned in their name later that evening. You must sign up before the event. Please bring own music cd/tape, costumes and props. Bribes are welcomed and ENCOURAGED!!! Creativity expressed in your stripping is a beaucoup plus! Make us laugh, make us cry, make us applaud!

Burning of Wad of Wishes
Saturday, time to be announced
Burning Man’s equivalent of throwing coins in the fountain, we will make your wishes come true by burning Beaucoup Bucks Camp dollars with your dreams and desires written on them. Come by and watch all the dollars burn and the wind take your wishes to the universe. Time of burn will be announced on Saturday afternoon. Keep your ears perked!
