Theme Music?

Post by LostMachine » Wed Aug 11, 2004 3:39 pm

As I was going through my music building play lists for the Playa I started looking for those songs that fit this year’s theme.

I was wondering,
What piece of music fits this year’s theme?

A few I came up with so far:
David Bowie- “Space Oddity” the accompanying “Ashes to Ashes”

Duran Duran – “Big Bang Generation”
Sting – “Walking on the Moon”
Legendary Pink Dots – “Saucers Over Chicago”

What else can we come up with?

I've adopted Love & Rockets' Hot Trip to heaven as my personal "reflection of the heme/Burning Man album for this year.

I know that the plan for towing errant mutant vehicles goes something like this:

Unlicensed, reckless, impaired driver is stopped, informed by Rangers that the vehicle is to go to the Long Term Parking. If necessary it will be towed (Rangers DO have a tow truck this year). Vehicle is hitched up and theme song to Sanford and Son will be blaring from the tow truck as the long, slow tow out past the gate takes place.

Hello Lostmachine my name is Zlad,

I believe u vant to use my song Supersonik for ur theme music at ur crazy party. My fee is normally $1,000,000.00. but for this I play for $750,000.00 plus expenses. You will fly me out from Molvania first class where u will pick me up in a limousine and transport me to the burn. You will have The Mutator waiting as my band for the night. I will perform one song after u will supply me with 500 women and (maybe couple of men) and a green card.
I don't need to sell my soul, he's already in me!!!

Klaatu "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" (not any of the insipid cover versions of the song).

Fly me to the Moon. (go with Brave Combo, not Sinatra.)
Heck, "Would you like to swing on a star" is a nice happy song.
Then there's that recent thing from Train.
Sound tracks from Science Fiction movies. (too bad burning vinyl is so poisenous--I could go for a John Williams record burn.)
Moon glow? Moon shadow? You are my sunshine?

Cant think of a thing.
