What if...
What if...
...so many people get caught up in the ticket hoopla and order so many spare tickets that there ends up being a surplus of tickets on the market causing the asking price of tickets on craigslist and ebay to go down, down, down?

It's become a commodity.
Re: What if...
I guess it would be the buyer's turn to take the high road and give only the face value. If buyers would take advantage of the market situation, it stands to reason that the seller may do so as well. I was very impressed in years past where sellers would sell their tickets at the lower tier face value than what was available online and the walk in outlets.

Don't forget the the LLC is going to have an official resale thingie set up for the first time, which should also drive the speculative nature of the market down.Zeke Chaparral wrote:...so many people get caught up in the ticket hoopla and order so many spare tickets that there ends up being a surplus of tickets on the market causing the asking price of tickets on craigslist and ebay to go down, down, down?
Since I don't know the shape it's going to take I'm not going to get more specific than calling it a "thingie"- I'm guessing it will be like the rideshare board but with a way to confirm the authenticity of the tickets.

Re: What if...
I wonder if it will be like the web site that the NFL uses for reselling season tickets.
But on that site you're also allowed to sell them for above face value.
My understanding behind their rational is that as a season ticket holder you 'own' those seats for the entire season so they are really yours to sell. The second part being that you buy a seat for a season at a price, you don't buy 9 (or however many) home games at $$$ each.
