Here are some thoughts on what to do next:
1. Offer a way to cancel awarded tickets NOW and make them available for the next sale. Not everyone will take the time and effort to trade/swap their tickets in the Burning Man System.
2. For the next General Sale - scrap the idea of the General Sale! Instead,
First, award a certain number tickets to large theme camps. This should ensure that the theme camps can be staffed.
Second, lottery the rest to "not-awarded" registrations. This will give the original registrants another chance of obtaining tickets and prevent more scalpers from trying to get these tickets.
Although it may be late for this year, I still think "names on tickets" is the way to go. Airlines do it and get multitudes of people through the gates. It's the only way to make sure the tickets make it to participants and prevent the mayhem of this year's lottery.

Theme camps are not the be-all end-all of burning man. Radical inclusion does not include the qualifier 'especially theme camps.' There is no rule requiring anyone to join a theme camp. People can just come and camp if they want to do so.

1) If people aren't even going to take "time and effort" to trade/swap their $240+ ticket through the Burning Man System, they're not going to bother canceling their tickets now.
2) Have another lottery, when people are already looking towards the open sale as a way to direct-purchase the tickets they need? Oh yeah, that'll be good.
I have a much better idea:
No person who has a single post to his or her name (hell, let's make it five, but even one would do good) will be allowed to start threads outside the introduction thread, and especially not this forum.

@ Bounce530 You do realize that without virgins there wouldn't be a community. As everyone was a virgin at one point including Larry Harvey and without them the event would become stale with a bunch of old burners bickering about there entitlements.
