How do I join a village?
I plan to bring a very small camper on a Toyota pickup and maybe pull a small van trailer. I'm a completely self contained. traveler. I'm used to going with short amounts of water. I've been sailing for the last 10 years. I plan on having a three wheeler kind of an art bike, If I can. I would like it to have a solar panel and battery and electric motor besides petals and a sail. How do I find out if this is except-able? Mac

Hey, Mac.

Here's a Thread about How to Join a Theme Camp:

And please note that Theme Camps (which provide a specific experience to the city) or Villages (which are sometimes just like-minded folks camping together) are optional, and you can visit theme camps regularly instead of camping with them. You can opt to camp in Open Camping areas without being alone--you'll have neighbors immediately. You'll get a map when you enter the event, and it will tell you what is reserved and what isn't.
Here's a link to finding out more about what you can do with your Art Bike or other motorized vehicle. "All motorized vehicles must remain parked and stationary for the duration of the Burning Man event, with the following exceptions: "Licensed Mutant Vehicles, Licensed Vehicles for People with Disabilities, Staff, Emergency, and Law Enforcement Agency Vehicles, Certain Wind-Powered Vehicles, and Small Motorized Skateboards."

Re: How do I join a village?
Mac, last I heard, a new rule took effect which allows a tricycle to have an electric motor in addition to pedals.
A sail, however, is not allowed on any vehicle that has a seat. (Of course, there is no rule against having art that happens to catch a bit of air when you unfold it for display.

We are interested in making contact with the HeeBeeGeeBees or someone from Nectar Village as we spent a lot of our time there at the last festival and feel we would be an asset to their community

I don't think they come around this board. Go to the Burningman.com website and find the list of last year's theme camps. Find them on the list, and they should have a contact email.

Re: How do I join a village?
But the real answer to the title question is the same as the answer to that other common question, "How do I get laid at Burning Man?"
And it's the same answer everywhere you go.
You just ask.

Well, that pretty much leaves us completely out of the picture.
