Want Skype Support?

I am able to add support for Skype to ePlaya. It requires a bit of extra work on my end to implement, which I'd rather not have to do unless it's something that people care about. I have a skype account, but really don't use the service at all. But that's just me, I know a lot of people use and enjoy it for chatting and calls and stuff. The add-in module I'm looking at is pretty high tech, take a look below to get an idea on how it would work.

What do you guys think? Is it worth adding skype support?

First, you add in your account info on your User Control Panel.

Yeah, you can choose whether ppl who contact you would be making a skype call, or if it would stick to a chat window. And yeah, there's even a special section of the FAQ for Skype

The button that shows up on the board will actually let other users know if you're online or offline, if you have your skype app privacy settings configured properly. Offline looks like this:

The user profile page's contact section looks like this:

When a user actually clicks on the icon, it opens up a popup with different options for connecting:

Overall it seems pretty fancy, but I don't want to add it for the sake of adding something fancy. Are any of you Skype users? Do you think this is worth doing?

I like Skype...
Can keep in touch with friends and family, and even use a webcam!
It's almost like being in the same place with them.

I use Skype on occasion, but realistically I don't leave the program open and running often. Even if I did, I don't imagine I'd have much of an urge to call someone out of the blue. If I happened to have the need to Skype with an ePlayan, it's a simple matter to PM them my Skype account name.

I cant imagine i would use it- i do skype though so it would possibly be useful

Ultimately the people who would want others to contact them on Skype would use it if it's available. Personally I have Skype on all the time for work, and a select few friends but wouldn't use this feature if implemented. It's up to you.
