Calgary AB Canada to Burning Man, a bit late?
Unfortunately, my sisters wedding is on the 25th, so I'm stuck here until the Sunday.
I was hoping that by some off chance someone would be leaving on the sunday to get to BM?
I can't drive myself there, due to me having narcolepsy, and it being too long of a drive for me to be safe.
Rideshare?

I just saw a round trip flight on expedia from Calgary to Reno and back for $570 (8/26 -9/4), that's a screamin deal. Probably not much more than gas. If I were up there, I'd do it. The internets are your friend!
. I'd personally rather do a 6 hour flight than two days of drivin.

Have you checked with your local group of burners? http://regionals.burningman.com/ca_alb.htmlSanguinePerforms wrote:Unfortunately, my sisters wedding is on the 25th, so I'm stuck here until the Sunday.

Alberta has an awesome BM Regional Rep. I believe they have some sort of gathering in Calgary every week. Local resources are good. Being in your local community - even better.
Try connecting and things might work out
Good Luck

Not every week but at least once a month
I don't think the email under the regional info is correct, but if you join the Calgary Burner's FB page, you might have some luck finding someone who's leaving a bit later. We actually might need more people to travel with us but we are leaving on Friday. Good luck!

In my car, by myself, gas is supposed to add up to about $275 round trip.LostinReno wrote:I just saw a round trip flight on expedia from Calgary to Reno and back for $570 (8/26 -9/4), that's a screamin deal. I was hoping for something a tiny bit cheaper, I am a low income burner, after all!
But thank you. That's definitely a last resort.

Thank you all for the help!
I checked that Alberta Regional Burners site, and the 3 'events' for this month were Fozzyfest, Motion Notion, and Light and Motion.
I was at Fozzyfest and I'm a rep for Light and Motion but I didnt hear anything about burning man at fozzy? ahha.
But alas, I've joined the facebook!
Determination!

Oh god.
For some comic relief I suppose.
I've probably made 20+ facebook status' about needing a ride and asked everyone I know thats going to burning man if they knew anyone leaving on the sunday...
the first person to reply in that facebook group.. was my downstairs neighbor taylor.. whos leaving on the sunday in an RV.
I've never facepalmed so hard in my whole life.
Searched for the answer for months, and it was literally underneath me.
Thanks for the help guys, I got a ride! woo!

Awesome! I always suggest checking with local regional group. It is surprising how many transpo/camping/gear/ticket logistics get resolved by that simple act.
