Getting bikes/stuff back to Los Angeles, Orange County or SD
Hello,
My husband and I are spending our honeymoon at Burning Man, however, we have to leave before the burn to celebrate another wedding and we are looking for some help on getting our bikes and perhaps a few other items (if space is available) back to the LA or Orange County area after the burn. We would be more than willing to help split the cost of your Uhaul or trailer. Please let me know anyone could help as we would really like to keep our burner bikes as they were the same bikes we had when we met on the playa 2 years ago and would like to keep them for memory sake as well as for practical sake! We live in Huntington Beach, CA but would be willing to meet up after burn in LA/OC or even San Diego

The rideshare board on the main Burning Man website also has an option for cargo-only. You should make a post there as well: http://rideshare.burningman.com/ridesha ... -man-2012/

There is a "filter". It is the Report This Post tool. One of the options is for posts that are "off topic".Bob wrote:Moderators, pls make a fucking filter or something.
Generally the action is reserved for attempt to derail the thread into a new topic, not just general chatter. But feel free to avail yourself of this tool as you wish. It looks like an exclamation point next to the "Quote" button on a post.

Or a troll.
Or someone that provide customer support for a living and attempts to be helpful in their free time. The key to being helpful is to avoid presuming how much someone knows, even if they say they have nine years of experience with the "product". Instead, just answer the question as it was asked.

It's off topic. There's a ride board. Please be useful.

Bob, please stop replying to my posts. There would have been no continuation of the off-topic discussion if you had not started a new thread.Bob wrote:It's off topic. There's a ride board. Please be useful.

There is a filter. It's called "plonk".Bob wrote:Simple, just plonk me.

As for "off topic" posts being removed... yeah, not so much. We'll look to see if it's breaking the TOS or any of the rules, but we're not mommies & we're not hear to filter out what one poster doesn't like, because another poster may love it. If we removed "off topic" posts there would be about 60 posts left on the entire board.
Again, if you don't like reading someones posts, plonk them.
(note: Moderators cannot be plonked. Sorry)

Oh, then we all can keep bumping these one-off threads with useless replies that accomplish nothing.

So stop responding. No responses, no bumps.
You do know you can go past a thread without opening it, don't you?
