If you're at an indoor range, hearing protection is even more important.
I suggest inserts plus earmuffs.
And the better muffs are far more comfortable and quieter.
Have fun.

Morning all!
Productive morning so far. Just ordered 50 scarves for our camp Dye with Dignity, already have been selling lotsa wine via emails and now time for playtime here for a few...
Gyre, I used a pair of Bose nosie cancelling headphones that worked great. I shot a 22 but next week is the semi automatics. Was scared shitless to shoot a gun as I am new to it but got through it ok. Interesting process learning all of this when I have never been around guns or havent been too keen on them. Hope everyone has a fabulous day.

Marty, let us know if you want someone to loan you a black powder cannon or some pyro so you can stir things up a bit.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
rumor has it Whoosh is back *waves*............*sets out sparkling water with lime*.
oh you baseball fans!
I love you, you know that. But. I'm not sure whether I'd rather watch water come to a boil, or baseball. Hardboiling eggs adds a little to the water side, though.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
I grew up with baseball. My dad tried out for the NY Yankees when he was a kidI He didn't make the team because he was too small. 5"4" and weighed 120lbs. soaking wet. But he managed our kids ball team, the Bluejays. I played 2nd base and one of the true highlights of my life was an unassisted double play I made. Caught a tough line drive and tagged out the man going to second. Never forgot that! We lived across the street from a baseball park in Mt Vernon, NY where many "semi pro" ball clubs would play on a Saturday afternoon. A number of the teams from what was known as the Negro Leagues would come to play there as well. This was before Jackie Robinson and other African Americans were allowed to play in the "Big Leagues". So, I'd sit on my front porch waiting for the visiting team bus to arrive and as soon as it did, I'd race down and beg to be their bat boy. "Sure kid" was the usual response and I'd be in heaven sitting on the bench and running out to fetch the bats and duck the tobacco juice. A few times I got to be bat boy for the Homestead Grays, one of the most famous of the Negro League teams. So we were at ATT Park for a Giants game a few years ago and there was a vendor there selling memorabilia from the Negro League teams and my wife surprised me with a Homestead Gray's cap. I still have it and wear it only on very special occasions. The guy behind the counter was unbelieving when I told him I that this old Jewish white guy had been a bat boy for the Grays. Great fun!!! Special game, baseball. We'll have to talk of that one day, YG.

my first dates ever allowed were with a boy who took me to the special seats right behind the dugout at Yankee Stadium
and of course whats a girl to do but play
broke the bat more than once
Central Park is what we had
Yeah we didn't fool around with "fake" only genuine wood
OMG are we all singing "Those were the days my friend..."
actually I like it right here and now with all of you and yours

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
"broke the bat" Never heard that one before, but I guess that it is descriptive! Gotta tell some of these stories so that some of these kids know that something happened before they got here! Adds a bit of context to what currently occurs. But, I really don't think of them as "the good old days" In many ways for many folks, they were truly "the bad old days".

Cool, Marty! And asd!
I've seen bats broken.
I was around when the Cardinals were hot and Gibson was stealing bases like everyone was asleep.
Baseball's been anticlimactic since then.
Harry Carey on the radio yelling!

With all respect I sometimes have no idea what Aserendipity is trying to say.ygmir wrote: *considering if ASD and Gyre are related*

I try to be clear, but have no respect for form otherwise.
Some of my phrasing is quite deliberate and carefully considered.
And sometimes, well ... you get what you pay for.
