This is what I thought on my blog about my first Burning Man experience this year. Why Burning Man is changing the world? http://theviewinside.me/why-burning-man ... the-world/

Who feels the same?

My 1st burning was this year also. Being in my early 50's, military retiree after 26 years in the Air Force, it was kinda of a bucket list thing I wanted to do.
The first five and a half days, I really didnt get it. I watched from the sidelines, rode my bike a lot, saw amazing art, listened to great music, and was having a pretty nice time.
Slowly during the week, I kinda started to unstand it more. I started talking to strangers, even hugged a couple of people I didnt know.
By the last night, I even started gifting, but now I think I understand that real gifting is someone giving their time to the people of burning man, handing out snowcones, lemon aid, ice cream on the deep playa (best icecream I ever had), fixing bikes, or giving their time at the many jobs needing volunteers before, during, and after the gates open.
I didnt do any voluntary work while at burning man, and I do regret this.
On Saturday night, after the burn, I did give out finger lights to people around me at a sound camp. It was nice seeing people enjoying them, and I finally started to open up some and really enjoyed their company and talking to them.
I can't wait for next year. I will visit my neighbor's camps and meet them. I will just hang out and talk with people I dont know.
Will gift my time to help the city, I will try to be more creative.
And I WILL GET TO THE EPLAYA MEET AND GREET.
