Hi All,
I am Alex Caste the coordinator of "Balls In Your Mouth" Camp. We are a Los Angeles and Bay Area based theme camp. This is the first year we are doing this theme camp but this is the third year we have done a theme camp. We are a camp that will be providing ice cold flavored boba on the playa. This is not a large theme camp. We are maxing the number of people in the camp between 8-12. We are looking for anyone who has at least 1 year of being on the playa.
While I love Birgins and usually welcome them whole heartedly into our camp for the past couple years we are also doing an art project called "Musical Oasis" (more on that TBA) and so we need people who know the environment of the playa and can come prepared. Although, please understand this is not a hotel camp. While I wish we could provide the amenities of home we are putting all of our effort into the art project and the boba bar rather than making a swanky camp.
Details about the Boba Bar:
This is a simple bar where patrons can order 1 of 3 flavored boba drinks (all non-alcoholic) from a bartender. The bartender assembles the boba, juice and ice in the patrons cup. Patrons can then chill out and drink their boba or be on their merry way.
Who we are looking for:
Must have your own ticket.
A person who has been on the playa at least once before. Is open, honest and doesn't sweat the small stuff.
+1 - If you have a useful skill then that's a bonus. (electrician, carpenter...etc)
+1 - If you have a truck with a tow hitch and are willing to haul a trailer up and back from the burn also a bonus.
+1 - If you have anything to help the camp with (generator, shade structure, shower...etc) [yes, we will have this no matter what but if you have one already then =) ]
We would like to meet with anyone interested in joining our camp first preferably in person or via skype so that we know we can get along with each other.
You can contact me at [email protected]
Thank you for reading all the way down to here and whether or not we camp with each other I hope you have a most excellent burn. Also, be sure to stop by and get a boba =)
Thanks,
Alex

You're probably going to have to get a permit...

Re: Balls In Your Mouth Camp
CF is right, you will need a permit to serve Boba, but have no fear it's $50, a form, and a checklist you'll probably have satisfied anyway (wash stations, etc). Not exactly a deal breaker.

Thanks. We're looking into the permit right now. We figured we would probably need a food permit. Thanks for the advice though. =)

Further Details about Musical Oasis
Musical Oasis is a 20'x20' covered area that is 10' high. There is only one entrance through a pair of archways. Inside the structure there are benches lining the walls opposite the archway entrance. In the center of the structure is a 3' diameter column that extends from floor to ceiling decorated to be a "techno-tree." Out of the top of the tree are led light strips and light ropes that squiggle away from the column over the ceiling. Across all the walls and ceiling are led bulbs spaced between 1/2' to 1' apart. There is also 16 small speakers (100watt) spread evenly around the inside of the area. Inside the column is a 400 watt subwoofer. On the column are a series of buttons, switches, and levers which participants are free to use. The controls allow participants to manipulate the sound and lights within the area.
Different music will be loaded available during different times of day for users to interact with. While the music is designed to be dancy the purpose of this installation is not to create a sound stage but instead to create a chill/meet space for people to hang out, chill out, trip out, meet people, listen to music and create music.
We are looking for any help and suggestions from burners. If you have any experience with ableton, electrical on the playa, art installations on the playa, carpentry, sculpture/set design please contact me. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. =)
If you have any questions or suggestions or wish to help in anyway please contact me either here or at [email protected]
