solar powered generator

Post by victorg6546 » Sun Mar 23, 2014 11:39 am

so I was wondering if any one has any experience with this kind of power situation. It seams like it has enough to power your lights and some other small electronics, and during the day, you can use the solar panel to charge the battery. So does this actually work well or would it be just better to buy a generator for the same price?

Welcome to the site. Solar power is a topic that's been covered pretty exhaustively over the years, feel free to take a look at any of the other threads and ideas on the subject. It all boils down to what your energy needs and project budget are.

The solar panel in that post is not very powerful - 15 watts is barely enough to run a car stereo. A 100 watt panel is more useful for keeping a battery of that size charged up. It depends on what you're powering, for how long.

Best to read other threads on the subject to find information that's useful for you.
