So I've been growing out a handlebar mustache since last November, not only is it awesome but I'm discovering that it requires a fair amount of maintenance.
Im wondering of anyone out there has or has had a handlebar mustache during the burn and can share any tips or tricks for keeping it tame and out of your mouth. Any particular brand of wax that works well out in 100 degree heat all day?

Re: Mustache care on the playa
When I had mine I used Firehouse Mustache Wax's "Wacky Tacky" (I still use their "light" for my current shorter mustache). It survived the heat on the playa fine, but there are a couple of things to remember: it's very sticky wax. It will hold playa dust, so you're going to want to wash it out at least every other day (even if you don't shower that often) so the dust doesn't wreck your 'stache. I use No-Rinse Shampoo to wash my beard daily on-playa, and it works great on the Wacky Tacky as well.
Note: mustache must be dry to apply wax. Let the heat of your fingers keep it soft while you work it through (this stuff is great for "real life" as well). Keep this out of direct sunlight, it will melt & get gross. You can put it in a ziplock in the cooler, then just take it out 15 mins or so before you need it to let it soften a bit.
It held these spikes all day (in SF):
