Hi guys,
My name is Rae. My friend, Nastassja, and I will be going to BRC for the first time this year. Little scared because I've left a lot of planning to last minute.. any fellow kiwis going this year too? Or have any advice on joining camps, etc. Any information and links would be greatly appreciated. For now, I'll just be going through here to gather as much information as I can. Thank you! Can't wait for August x
Namaste
Rae

Welcome to eplaya. There is a wealth of information and advice here.
But even more importantly, make sure to read the first timer's guide and the survival guide. Not just you, make sure Nastassja reads and understands them as well.

When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

We have bruners from everywhere and NZ has its own meet point, Kiwiburn - one of the BM regionals! There are also eplaya finding a camp threads and flying in threads and international threads. Sure you have many social media friends of friends who go/have been to this crazy event!

Get connected to other Kiwis for advice and networking here--the single smartest thing you can do, if you haven't done it yet:
http://regionals.burningman.com/regiona ... w-zealand/
And click on our 2014 Theme Camps forum for advice on how to join a camp and to find camps that are still looking for members. It's a little late in the year, so that's a good thing to keep in mind when approaching with your skills and why you fit. They might be full, but if not, they're looking for gung-ho contributors.
Theme Camps are optional; you can camp on your own and just visit them all day without a commitment. I have camped more times with a friend or two than I actually have with a camp.
Welcome!
