Well, the folks on the Burning Man Project who are making money off the Burn sure like this episode. It will only increase the demand for tickets and decrease the quality of citizen. That's the plan.

Well, I don't know about any nefarious "plan". But I have been talking for years, here on ePlaya, about the importance of preserving the ethos of the event, and all I got in return was a chorus of howls about "radical inclusiveness".
Well, those howlers will probably be happy now, with some major radical inclusiveness of television-gawking coach-potatoes in plaid shorts and black socks with cameras around their necks.
That said, I'm going to have a fabulous time at TTITD, like I always do.

That's the first episode of the Simpsons I've watched in probably 7 years.

Casanova, Thank you for posting this. I had wanted to see it but I don't have cable. You made my day.

Personally, I thought it was funny. David Silverman's own cameo was pretty good, too. Poor David, nobody respects the sousaphone, even if it is on fire! And seeing familiar art pieces simpson-o-fied was great. I spotted a trike from my local community, the big shark, half of the praying-hands-keyhole-thing, Larry Harvey, obviously El Pulpo and the cupcakes, and then a smattering of other influences in the background...
Some people are upset that they didn't get every detail right, despite some of their people attending the event... personally, I think it did a great job at being accessible to the common viewer while still having some in-jokes for us geeks. Sure, Homer didn't go through gate/greeters, somehow snagged a ticket easily, "reserved" his site for $200 for next year... but Lisa also felt like she found her tribe, there was still a blinding dust storm, and their tent flew away because they didn't stake it down properly. And Marge's trip was hilarious. I think we've all "been there" in some capacity... LOOK! SHINY!
I think it did a fine job.
And if people are upset about this - South Park, Malcolm in the Middle, and Lucy - Daughter of the Devil all went to Burning Man years ago....
I was amused. Especially when they seemingly poked fun at the Bmorgs crazy copywright/IP policy... BURN THE BURNING MA---- I MEAN BLAZING GUY!
