Hello from London

Post by Aggie » Fri Dec 26, 2014 11:20 am

Hello Burners

So I have been looking at the photos and reading about BM and dreaming about going for 3 years. I want to be part of the craziness. I don't want to keep looking at other people's photos and stories. I want to make my own. :D

I am trying to find someone I could go with from UK.

If anyone would have any advice it would be much appreciated. :D

Welcome Aggie. Start reading. You have plenty of time to ferret out that person or group. All the answers are here. Use Google with 'eplaya' in the search. A hearty hi ho welcome.

The best plan, is to plan to go by yourself. If you don't want it bad enough to go by yourself, and if you can't make a plan based only on your own skills & strengths, then you are not ready to make the most of this adventure. Think outside your box. Learn to cook on a beer can stove. Practice taking a "shower" with a plant mister. Imagine how well you can live outdoors with what you are capable of carrying yourself!

Do not limit yourself to what some other person has in mind!!!

Once you have your plan together, find another person who is going solo, and pair up, on a purely take-it-or-leave-it basis. 8) 8) 8)

That way you can both be radically self reliant, while watching each other's backs. You might wind up being BFFs, like me & Graidawg. 8)

Hello, there is a group of us going from the North West providing we all get tickets in the individual sale.

It will be our first burn so we are all inexperienced but excited nonetheless.

Keep in touch as we may all be able to help each other out if we are travelling from the same place.

Hello UK burners! We will be in London in June and would be happy to meet up to give bad advice. We'll be staying in Kensington for a week just sightseeing after going to Body & Soul in Ireland.
Cheers,

So I finally managed to log into my account again. Yay!

I now have a ticket to BM. Flight to LA. And a person to travel with. She's a first timer too so we are a bit overwhelmed by the amount of preparation ahead of us. All the stuff we need to bring with us for the week at BM. We are now looking for a lift to BM and a camp. If any of you guys know about anything please let us know.

Can't wait. :D

Welcome back.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hello again and congrats. There will be ride-shares here on this board. Los Angeles is a wee bit far so you can fly to Reno Nevada or take a bus or head for San Francisco and use the Burner Express Bus to get to the playa. You will be buying your food and water probably in Reno. They also have tons of supplies. Check out Walmart.com or Target.com to get an idea of U.S. prices. You really don't want to bring all your gear on the plane. Search these boards for answers by using google with 'eplaya' in your search.
