ticket question - out of date browsers

Post by diana-smiles » Wed Feb 11, 2015 9:56 am

Hi - I am trying to create my burner profile to register for the ticket sale, but I am unable to complete my profile because the browser I am using is not supported (IE8). This is the browser I have at work, and I can't change it. The good news is I can go home and finish my profile tonight, but my question is: will I have this browser problem when I try to actually purchase tickets next Wednesday? I will be at work at that time, and will have to buy them here, on IE8.

Thanks!
Diana-Smiles

IE8 is not supported -- For good reason. Numerous security issues.

The bigger question, why does your work IT person allow it in a corporate environment?

(Do you not have a mobile browser on your phone?)

So my premise is correct, I will not be able to buy tickets using my computer at work. :( I was wondering because I can still access the burningman.com, it just looks funky.

My follow up question was going to be - will my phone work? But really, that's kind of moot since I don't have wifi access at work, and rarely do I have 4G here, which means my phone won't be fast enough to have even a remote chance of getting a ticket. After-market here I come!

As for my company's IT? No clue really, but I would imagine that the answer is money, as it so often is.

Thanks digital!

Start coughing the day before the tickets go on sale.

Or take the advice an old roommate told me years ago...he said when you call in sick, just make sure you use the words "explosive" and "diarrhea" somewhere in the same sentence. No one questions your reason and no one will ask you anything the day you return back to work.

There's a contact us form on the Burner Profiles site, but I believe that'll only work if you've got a completed profile (and a modern browser). Send your question to [email protected]
