HOV lane at BM

Instead of car passes...if you have three or more people in the vehicle, you get to use the 'HOV' lane. If 4 people arrive at the gate in one car without a vehicle pass, are they denied entry? Clearly they have done their part to reduce traffic and vehicle damage to the playa!

Ok I know realistically it would be hard to cart four people and gear out there. But several times I have gone separate from my shit that went in. One of the camp trailers. Three people is definitely making the effort and should get a free car pass.

Inbound there is one lane to the playa. You could include your solution to police it in your note to the organizers.

I'm giving this a nudge over to the Tickets Discussion board. While the idea of an HOV lane (which has been brought up several times over the years) is technically transportation (and not really do-able, as you'd need to have people standing by at several points throughout the entire length of the gate road to keep people from just jumping into it with fewer people), the discussion seems to be centered around the need for vehicle passes.

The carpool lanes on California freeways only require two occupants.

Depends on the freeway and where on the freeway--80 over the bridge is 3...

And I don't see how you'd enforce it without a lot more gate volunteers.
