mocha caffe needs baristas and location assistance

Post by espresso_aurence » Sun Jul 24, 2016 4:50 pm

Greetings fellow burners. We are having an hot-chocolate, espresso, mocha, latte and fun shop in an bus. It has been to the burn before and is coming again this year.

If you can pour a pattern and or make latte art on every latte all day, we need you. novice baristas are free to come by for edumacation but please do not apply to be an assigned barista.

Our goal is to serve a drink a minute twelve hours a day. in seven days that will be about 5000 drinks.

Are there any baristas out there?

Also, is trance dead? we are looking for a parking spot next to the trance stage.

Barista Rem here! Would love to help! Been a barista for only about 3 months but I have plenty of training (courtesy of Onyx Coffee Labs) and can steam any kind of milk and make pretty art--hearts, tulips, stacked tulips, slowsettas, and I can kinda do inversions. Please let me know how I can help!

I'm giving this a nudge over to the camps & villages board, since that's a better fit for camps looking for assistance.

As for "parking near the trance stage" it sounds like there may be some confusion. Burning Man is a significantly larger thing than a small weekend campout, and if you wanted to park near someone's stage you would pretty much need to reach out and contact that group to inquire about joining their camp. Theme camps (including the folks who bring the larger scale sounds systems) are often registered and placed within certain areas in the city (theme camp space is marked on the map), if you're not a part of a registered and placed theme camp you would look for and find an available spot in the unreserved space sections of the map, that's all on a first-come, first serve basis.

Anywhere closer to 2:00 or 10:00 on the dial is going to be in the vicinity of the larger sound systems, and I'm sure there are at least a few planning on playing one form of trance or another. If you guys are fairly self-contained, I wouldn't worry too much about connecting with and joining somebody else's camp, you'll be in close proximity to lots of awesome stuff and be able to set up and rock your cafe wherever you land. Good luck!
