Was grabbing a couple things at a local big box and saw a 700 watt microwave on sale for $35.
Kinda struck me as an easy way to simplify my playa kitchen. Am I overlooking something here? I can live on shelf stable food for a week- seems like way less of an pain than dealing with dry ice on a cross country drive with a trailer.
Any one have experience running small microwaves on an eu2000i?
Microwaves and Honda eu2000?
Re: Microwaves and Honda eu2000?
I have tried a small microwave like that on a small generator and it worked. You'd want to test your exact setup.
However, I like tinkering with the Coleman stove etc out there, trying to cook something really nice once in a while. I'm not sure how I'd feel about nuking a Hungry-Man® Salisbury Steak Dinner back at camp.

A Honda EU2000 will barely feel a 700 watt microwave. No problemo.

I have lots of experience running a micro on an EU2000. It rocks.
On the playa, when you're hungry you usually want instant gratification. A microwave will provide that, without heating up your living quarters.

Two more words: microwave popcorn.

I'm giving this a nudge over to Power & Illumination since it's more about the power/generator than about food. The others beat me to my answer, it should work fine, assuming you're not running a full load at the time you're using it.
