Yeah, the robin hood mentality makes me puke. The "rob" part mostly.

To clarify ... people that made themselves "rich" and not having been born that way particularly resent that attitude. People dont like being robbed of something they busted their ass to get.

And I will take yet another moment to share a bit more ... because I have more I feel I need to say.

It is easy for someone who is young and doesn't have much to have that attitude but when you get a little bit older and have managed to scrape a little bit together, you tend to guard it closely. If you didn't grow up with much, maybe you tend to guard it a little MORE closely.

That to me explains the American shift towards conservatism more than anything else. In the 60's and 70's when the baby-boomers were young and the majority of the US population was young, idealism was easy and the thought of sharing came easy because what was really ment was that they wanted people that had more to share with them because large portion of the population had less.

Now with the aging of the population and the, having accumulated a little something, they are more eager to hold onto what they have worked so hard to get. It is easy to share if you are very rich or very poor, what has happened is that as the baby boom has matured, the income demographic has moved to the center ... neither rich nor poor ... and they want to hold onto what they have. I think.

actually, all the data shows that peoples incomes, if that is what you mean by the income demographic, have been dropping steadily over the period of time you define as shifting to conservatism. The system that they support idealogically is the one that is 'robbing' from them.

Also to wonder, if the safety net wasn't so poor, would people be quite so panicked about holding onto everything? Would they be more willing to take risks to improve "quality of life" unstead of just "standard of living"?
And just how much does having the spirit of nastiness socially and philosophically acceptable turn into a feedback loop?
Is there even a way to discuss these things without it becoming a slogan slug fest?

Out of curiosity I checked out this person's music.

It woke the baby who was napping in the *other* room.

I was displeased.

Now that is the best insult I have heard yet ... Impressive.

I do appreciate all of the comments, and I do take them into consideration; but some of you people are very angry, and very ugly on the inside. I never asked for your money, or for you to buy anything; just for you to take a listen to my music. I am not a spammer and I am not a merchant selling goods; I am just a musician who adhere's to the principles that BM represents. If you do not like my music that's cool; but damn some of you ignorant sepratist's are really irratating. What the fuck is this " we are a communtity so get out because we don't like you" crap about? Did you miss the point of BM? Everyone can still get along even if they disagree. Some of you are no different than the KKK or any other hate group. Please do not use this forum just because it is trendy or it makes you feel good about yourself; use it to enhance your mind. I thought this was a place of understanding and co-habitation, not an elitist group of hate-mongers playing "hippie" for a minute. Anyway, once again, thank you for your time and attention ...

should i even gratify this?

how many times must it be explained? youve created what? 4 threads - 4 THERADS - as a new poster - to promote yourself???

it's obnoxious. it's not the way things currently work here on the boards, at least not frequently. the only apparent reason for your new threads is to promote yourself (try starting ONE thread with ALL of your links in SHARE, or something). Meanwhile, you try to disguise them with clever titles. But we all know that every time you author a thread it's not to be part of the online community but to show off. THAT's why you're getting shit upon, m'dear. Do you think that before you go making the same mistakes over and over, you could take a day or tto to see how this forum operates? Do you think maybe you could do that before you attempt (and fail miserably) to insult us?

This has all been explained before, but apparently it's too complex for you.

Lest you think i'm doing this out of some musician's spite, i don't even have a sound card, so i haven't got a clue what it sounds like.

Gratuitous name calling won't get you far even if we do enjoy the sport at times. And get a reality check - most non-eplayans i know think this forum in the most stupid, uncool thing they've ever seen. So go find the cool kids club, if that's what you're looking for.

hippy.

how about a compromise then.

can we just get one god damned thread from you entitled, say, my music. When you come up with a new tune you can post it in this 1 thread. That way we might be less likely to label you a spammer. See, the thing is, you aren't really an active part of the eplaya community, you only show up here when you want something from us and that rankles. There are others on this board who exchange music, writing, photography, what have you, but they are part of the community first and foremost. That is, they do more than just hoc their wares.

See how I used that word community? That makes me burny.

I've got no issue you with you JMG... or your music. more power to you.

I think the issue here is self promotion. No one likes you using this forum for self promotion. It goes against the community spirit. Plus this is the general discuss thread here... not the me me me thread. Even if it is a tribute... it just doesn't fit... not here.

Maybe on the share thread if anywhere.

It's tough sometimes, but it is tough by consensus.

Why do you use it? I'll bet you jack your little weenie everytime someone makes a hit on your selfserving, boring, obnoxious, unnecessary entries, and then slams you for wasting their time... c'est moi, old buddy... and I may be a dick, but I have to admit, you're a bigger dick than me...

My words were not meant for all of you. What makes you think just bcause I don't post everywhere all the time, that I am not aware of everything that is going on here? Once again, this speratist attitude is amazing given the supposed theme of this site. Mabye if some you more angry people would have just given your opinion of my music without getting evil about it, my reaction would have been differen't. Or better yet, you could have just passed over it and gave no response at all. It's just like tv; if you do not like it, then turn it off- very simple you see? I hate to be the one to break it to some of you "elitist's", but I have not broken any of the rules of this forum. If you disagree with my approach, then that is cool. ... But please do not start making up your own rules for this site and then bash me for not complying.

That type of shit should only happen "outside" of this site in the "real world" ... This forum deserves to be held true to the original idea of BM ...

If I approached you in the desert with the same words I have used in my post's, would your reaction still have been the same? Hateful and ignorant?
If so, then I am sorry for you; you have completely missed the point of BM.
