BORG2 Bullhorn ELECTION EXTRA, Thursday, Jan. 19, 2005
1. VOTING BOOTHS ABOUT TO CLOSE
2. PRECINCT RESULTS ROLL IN FOR NATIONAL, LOCAL, AND CURATOR RACES
3. ELECTION PARTY TONIGHT AT THE ODEON, WITH DR. HAL
---------------------------------------------------------------
Yes folks, we have about 5 hours left before the curtains are pulled shut on our first election. At 11:59pm tonight (wednesday) the polls for voting on BORG2 Art Council and Guest Curator positions will close and our future will stare us squarely in the face.
We are expecting a photo finish in various races. The cameras and strobes are out and in position. The horses are running at top speed, contracting and releasing those beautiful horsely chest muscles (which i forget the name of right now). And the crowd is on their feet cheering, wondering, speculating, and worrying about what is going to happen. Will Burning Man ever be the same again? It appears not.
Every vote is extremely important at this point. Especially yours. so if you are getting this email and have yet to vote, please do so now. It is fun and good for ones physique, as well as mental fortitude. People appear to really like this voting thing, as when they can't get into the system for whatever reason, it is amazing the anger with which they write us to tell us of their disenfranchisement. We have solved every voting problem so far, but man, people get upset when they can't vote.
Clearly the people want to vote and determine their own Burning Man destiny. Everyone is thrilled with the whole thing. The experiment has been a wildly success.
Larry, you got to get yourself one of these election things. It clearly makes everyone happy and encourages that "participation" thing we Burning Man people are always pushing.
HERE'S HOW TO TO VOTE:
(if you have problems voting, write [email protected] and he will fix the problem. no one left out yet, and we intend to keep it that way until the very end)
1) Go to http://www.aumond.com/confirm.html
You will be prompted for your name, email as it appears in the BORG2
mailing list, date of birth, address and phone number. We will only
use this data for verification purposes if we suspect people are
stuffing the ballots. We will not share this data with anyone else and
once the election is over and we are able to certify it as clean and
fair, we will delete all the data. You must fill in all the fields.
Be truthful, if we need to verify this information later and we can't,
your vote will not be counted.
2) You will be sent a message to the email you used when registering.
The message will contain your special election PASSWORD.
Then go to http://www.aumond.com/login.html to log in.
And log on using your BORG2 mailing list email and the password SENT TO YOU IN EMAIL AFTER YOUR CONFIRMATION WITH DEMOGAGUE.
3) Start voting. You will see links to the candidates platforms and
the BORG2 website. Make sure your ballot looks correct, once you click
on the "vote" button, your ballot will be cast and you will not be able
to change it. You will be able to see results for an election only
after you voted in it. Election results are refreshed every 2 minutes
in the voting section. You will not be able to vote for more than the
specified number of candidates in each election.

Re: BORG2 polls about to close: VOTE NOW.
This is the take-away from my point of view (I was one of the afore-mentioned dis-enfranchised voters (my own fault) who finally got to vote thanks to repeated efforest by the BORG2 I.T. team to get me in..);jimmason wrote:We have solved every voting problem so far, but man, people get upset when they can't vote.

The BORG2 is really doing what they say they are! They have a kick-@ss team (there I.T. Team is awesome!) and I for one am totally in awe of the potential for what can happen this year.... Be cynical if you want, but momentum is building fast! (don't get run over...) This is not just hype, it is real....
