South SF Bay Burners -- KARAOKE!

Post by geekster » Fri Jan 21, 2005 2:03 pm

Okay, so we are going to try to do a weekly non-event event. It is a non-event because we know it is on a Monday night (last time was Tuesday and didn't get started until WAY late) but we are going to try to make it a regular thing and want to invite all our burner friends in the area to participate. Last Monday there was like NOBODY there hardly. We can take the place over and make the night ours! Sing like a bird? Go for it! Sing like a frog? Go for it! Sing like you have your reproductive ganglia caught in a bear trap? Get help!

What: KARAOKE!
When: MONDAY NIGHT
Where: Britannia Arms Cupertino

Be there, or be someplace else!

Just one additional note ... if people have families, we usualy take our ankle-biters over there early for dinner. Kids eat for $1.00 and they have a pretty extensive kids menu. Then we cart them home and come back to karaoke. It is a very European flavor place. Very family friendly until later in the evening.

If you don't want to sing, there is pool, foosball, and darts. Real darts, not the plastic electronic darts.

I'm a little hypoglecymic today and don't know if I want to get into the whole driving thing, so i'm skipping tonight. I hsoudl be available on teh 31. The MrFishist is against the whole thing, but I bet if it's a choice between suffering with me or suffering without me, he'll take the first. So, Next Week.

It's almost Monday and time for our weekly non-event! So come on out, or not, up to you but we would LOVE to see you there! Some people are coming down from The City and some of our friends from tribe.net will be there too.

Sounds like fun. I'll have to try to remember to stop by when I'm in town in early March.

I think it gets started at about 8:30 or so. And yeah, Kristine and I will be there. Some others have said they are coming too. Lets tear shit up!

Last week I had laryngitus and tore up Dust In The Wind. It was totally sick! I wasn't bad enough to get him to shut the mic off, though, and that is my goal. I will have to try harder tonite. The bartender did "Behind Blue Eyes" and I am thinking that would be a really bad one for me so maybe I will sing it this week. It's all about trying to get kicked off the stage for me. Maybe Kris and I should do "Too Sexy For My Shirt" again. That worked the last time we did it. They told us to get the hell off the stage.

Was great seeing you tonight, however briefly.... Next week I'll see if I can get blood from a stone and actually have money enough to get dinner. *wry smile*

Well, I would have gotten you something had I realized you hadn't eaten before the kitchen closed. It was great meeting Q_ and seeing Koosh again!

I really do appreciate the offer...but I'm having a little trouble being gifted right now. (I'm just so goddamned TIRED of being a charity case....) Thanks for getting me soda, at any rate.

So, is it silly of me to be asking if we're doing this tonight? I finally have my car back....

They are doing construction in there so next Monday I will drop in on my way home from work to have a look. We met Koosh there and after a couple of drinks headed over to The King's Head in Campbell which is just a few miles away. It was fun. Kristine and Koosh both belted one out. We even saw one of our friends from The Britt who did a U2 song.

Now I am torn between The Britt and The King's Head ...

I think I will wait and see how things are once they have the remodeling at The Britt finished.

I was really unimpressed by how f'n LOUD they had everything at the King's Head; at the Brit we can still carry on a conversation without major effort.
