Bama Camp?

Post by Perpetual Burn » Fri May 26, 2017 9:59 am

Is there a camp called Bama Camp? Is anyone on here a camper there or know any of them or where it's located?

It might sound crazy, but hey most Burners are...

But Alabama plays Florida State in football... the day the Man Burns! And it could be the biggest game of the regular season as the teams will likely be ranked #1 and #2 in the nation...

I told them to schedule the game for Monday but the Illuminati doesn't seem to listen to me...

So, I was hoping to get in touch with some Bama Campers to see if any of them were Crimson Tide fans and were planning on bringing a TV and a way to stream the game which is on ABC.

Or does anyone know if there's a way to stream ABC in BRC? ABC's site says they don't.

I'm bringing a couch and a TV out there to watch it close to the Man because the game will start around 5:30PM PST... so hopefully it ends right around the time the Man starts Burning.

I know this is a long shot... But it's worth a try.

Anyway... see ya in the Dust!

Ewww. Worst idea ive heard in a long time. Maybe you should choose between the 2 events. Crowds of yay and nay sayers around a tv doesnt sound much like burning man.

Lolz

Yeah, I'm sure folks wouldn't like to see people bickering over a game on the Playa... But I doubt an Alabama Burner would cause a ruckus... I know I won't... I bet my passion for the game and the art of competition will make fellow Burners laugh... folks at bars in Tahoe that don't give a shit about college football always seem amused to watch me watch my games...

But if you want to steer clear of such shenanigans, remember I plan on posting up at the 12 o'clock side of the Man... a bit back so the couch and TV don't block many people's view of the Burn...

And I have thought about flying to Atlanta for the game... if it was on Monday I'd skip the Temple Burn and fly to the game... But it's the day The Man Burns. So that ain't no debate... BRC > the Default World!

But hey.... do you know where Bama Camp is?

Watching a football game in Default is the most awful thing I can imagine, and I would rather stab my eyes out with Paris Hilton's feather headdress than waste precious burn time watching football. But I fucking love the idea of you setting up a couch and a TV on the playa, attract a few fellow devotees, pop open some Totinos and make it happen for yourself right there. Truly, Radical Self-Reliance and Absurdist Performance Art all rolled up into one. If I see you out there, I'll totally high-five you, chug a beer and belch.

Hahahazzz!

At least somebody gets it... Radical Inclusion!

You ever been to a football game live? Way different than on TV... more people than on the Playa with great passion and focus on one thing.

And you ever heard about Raiders fans? I think these guys would blend right in on the Playa...

OK, You're right. Set it up and call it art. I'll just avoid it and call it something else. Hey. There was a guy that set up a dome playing the same song 24/7 for a week. It was a bad song very loud. That was way more intrusive. His neighborhood tried to kill it then kill him. Your idea would just make me laugh at you. (Can't leave defaultial behind for 7 days.) Each to their own. There are people talking on phones and going online. Personally I leave it all behind. Good luck and have fun with that.

The coffee camp next to us had a TV with a game on one day last year. Right next to Hushville, so brilliant. At least they were not intrusive.

So yeah, you can find the game somewhere.

Lolz... I'm ideally only gonna acknowledge the Default World for three and a half hours... I usually turn my phone off as soon as I get on the Playa and never think about Defaultia, time, or Commodification all week...

This is just a game I've been wanting to see for years... kind of a bummer it's the day the Man Burns... or maybe it's synchronistic serendipity...

Considering this year's theme, Radical Ritual, it almost seems silly to not look like a nut job watching school children play a game on a TV... football and sports ARE Radical Rituals!

But considering ABC is basic cable... would I not just simply need a TV antenna? Hmm....
