Combining B & C struts for a 4v dome?

Combining B & C struts for a 4v dome?

On a 4v dome, the C strut is 99.7% the length of the B strut. On a 32' diameter dome that translates to about 1/8th of an inch. If you're using 3/8" bolts and drill 1/2" holes, B and C should be within tolerance of each other. Has anyone tried combining the B & C struts, or maybe substituting a B in place of a C, or vice versa? I've searched the eplaya archives and the googles and come up dry, though my search-fu may just be too weak.
