The event is already posted on the "Playa Calendar" (and I think that it will be automatically put into the "What, When, Where".

The mutant vehicle (art-car) community has begun to receive e-mails.

And, there are plans to advertise at the DMV and hand out fliers to mutant vehicle drivers on the playa.

But, how can mutant vehicle owners be encouraged to participate?!?!

Also, it seems as if it would be easier to herd cats than organized a bunch of mutant burners to be somewhere at a certain time on Friday.

Do you think that it would be reasonable to ask the Black Rock citizens to feed the Mutant Vehicle drivers during the parade? Would that help get the Mutant community to the parade?

Can anyone think of any issues with the plan to have a Mutant Vehicle parade during sunset on Friday?

Fliers sound like MOOP to me.

Do it and they will come. Spread the word here and on the playa. The rest will take care of it's self.

I guess I should have said "posters instead of "fliers"...

I'll "post" "posters" on/in mutant vehicles as reminders to the owners and advertisement to other Black Rock Citizens.

Hopefully avaiding any MOOP!

MUTANT VEHICLE PARADE

"Have Freak, Will Travel" (or "Have Freak, It Travels") ~Black Rock City Mutant Vehicle Parade~

When: During Sunset, Friday, September 2nd, 2005
What: A Counter Clockwise Show of Mutant Force (clothing optional)
Who: Engine, Motor, Wind, & Human Powered Day & Night Vehicles
Where: Right next to the Esplanade

BRC is something different to everyone. For me, its citizens are my support group; they support my deviation from social "norm". Some say that BRC has lost its flavor as it has grown to over 35,000 (and maybe it has in some aspects). But for me, to see, to FEEL a whole city of people supporting mental diversity, it recharges my will to break out of the invisible prison of society?s rules that I often willingly lock myself into. So Friday evening, as the sun is setting, raise your "Freak" flag and navigate your mutant vehicle counter-clockwise next to the Esplanade. Feel confident that no one will frown at you or your creation, and charge yourself up with the knowledge that you're not the only one out there who enjoys freedom from society's rules.

Talk is that we will all eventually end up at Pepe Ozan's "The Dreamer"
(located at 12-o'clock position) to join any festivities that might be going on there.
