Tent mesh
So are there any new and improved ways to cover the mesh in tents to help keep the sand out? Or if nothing new, any good old ones I may not know about yet?

I'm still a big fan of a comforter or felted blanket and spring clamps. Adjustable and doesn't permanently alter the tent. Also holds the temperature steady, and cuts down on ambient light coming through the nylon.

Well since there’s no sand on the dirt dry lake Black Rock Desert, you’ll be safe from sand entry regardless.

Or get a tent that doesn’t have the mesh or has closable mesh windows.
I think Coleman makes one or few. Not too pricy.

Re: Tent mesh
If you're good with a small tent under shade, the "60 second" tent has no mesh, other than the door and window, which zip up. I love ours.

Well it’s dirt goddammit. Add water and it becomes mud. That’s dirt.
