I think Capt. RON did a good job on a quick read of the packing list post, did not look at the others.

The packing list is essential to virgins and reused each year by veterans. It is not a vacation, it is not a festival. It is an extreme wilderness expedition.

We say to virgins: read (to see if it is for you and understand it - don't just watch the sparkly videos), get tickets, meet your regional in person (in either order of tickets and regional), plan your transport, how are you going to participate?, read more and more, ask questions after doing reading and searching, survive and thrive. Packing list needs to be in that.

Packing list, which I learned from the veteran burner who first brought me, is not emphasized on official BM website prep docs, JRS, ePlaya pinned posts or on other BM-related social media.
