Extremely new guy here, just joined the community and looking forward to learning from/with you.
I am a virgin burner who is lucky enough to get to come to BM this year to participate in a fantastic arts-and-science research project with a science group who are going to be set up at the Phage camp. I'll be strapping GoPros to people when they encounter our science performances, to get a sense of how their learning experiences are shaped by physical gestures and expressions as well as verbal interactions.
Unfortunately I'm not able to come for the full week, so I'll be arriving Wednesday and departing Saturday, most likely via burner bus. I'm still on the hunt for camp and tickets, and I have to say I love the challenge of maintaining radical self-reliance while doing so, which has generated some useful self reflection. Most people (myself included) can easily default to using the internet and online forums to ask someone or something to do something for us, and in the case of something as overwhelming as first time BM preparation, I definitely felt that sense of 'aaargh there's too much to do just ask someone to help!' But that went away pretty quick - now I'm just excited and curious to see how this will all shake out. To me it's part of the utopian framework of BM, which I absolutely love.
TL;DR: looking forward to connecting with community members with no strings attached
Peace and good stuff to you all
