Burn on Easter Island?

Post by krtecek007 » Sun Jul 29, 2018 6:54 am

Cannot go this year to the event, as I should be on Easter Island at that time.

So I thought it would be great to burn something there as well ;-)

Any other "unlucky" local burner or passing through in that location at that time as well?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but a burn sounds like an incredibly bad (or at the very least, difficult and expensive) idea. If I remember correctly they're pretty light on trees (their once-thriving population chopped everything down). If they've got any trees or lumber supplies there, they're probably ridiculously expensive and may be hard to come by - depending on how you're traveling you may or may not be able to bring what you need with you.

As an alternative, once you're there you might want to connect with the local population and figure out some kind of event you can work together to make happen.

Good luck organizing something!

if you must do something, burn a candle. ….small ….symbolic, ….low impact

You need not burn a temple.

"Split wood, I am there. Lift up a rock, you will find me there"
How many old burners does it take to change a light bulb? Just one to change the bulb..... and five more to reminisce how good the old bulb was....

flexibility is the key to success....... and poor planning is the key to flexibility

:D :D :D :D

I'm not an animal... e.g. to pour gasoline on one of those statues and set it ablaze

Was actually considering to just make some small straw figure, nothing else/bigger

+ I read that the park guardians are tough, so I presume I wouldn't get away with anything bigger

Does seem odd to say……

Aye - I expected anything, but cautionary advise about not burning too much ;-)
