Btw, thank you all for the helpful information you leave for us all here. Our preparation lead us to many strange places (and strange is good) and this forum was definitely one of the most useful and fun to read (that thread about throwing your phone on the ground to make it dust proof )

Yes, might as well toss it into the dust! (Actually, a waterproof cover is nice).

I have done the cheap thing and kept my phone in a sandwich bag at times, but one evening I hauled it out to take a photo while I was dancing, & everyone stared at me. 90% of them were nosily interested in whatever substances come in a baggie; 10% of them were keen to arrest me.

I've gone back to using a cloth drawstring bag.
