Bikes on the road shops close to BRC

On my way to BRC, i noticed last time bikes lining up in front of shops on the side of the road.
I presume they are bikes from burners from past years.
Has anybody tried to buy some ? what price range ?
I would prefer to get a used bike this time as i don't see the point to splash cash on brand new bike i am gonna use for only 1 week

The recent issue of Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter covered all manner of bike questions. I think those bikes are for RENT. Go to the BM site. Find the JRS Newsletter read about bikes.

Don’t count on a used bike that was at Burning Man before, that you pick up on the way in, to hold together and work all week.
It might, it might not. I mean the frame won’t break in half but the bearings are likely trashed by abrasive, corrosive playa dirt. And most of the bikes were junk when they were new.

It can work, but be prepared with some tools and grease and inner tubes and such.
