Securing a Lavvu / Tipi to the floor?
Securing a Lavvu / Tipi to the floor?
Hi, I'm new to Burning Man (hello!
I'm wondering how best to secure a Lavvu. Its similar to a tipi, but a design from the far Arctic Sami people, designed to withstand the Arctic winds. They say it doesn't need to be secured to the ground because of its design, but I don't want to take the risk. How do you secure something that consists of poles and a canvas cover?

We've taken a Sioux tipi before. We used rebar to hold the canvas cover to the Playa. It held up amazingly well. If it wasn't so difficult to transport the 15 x 22ft wooden tree trunks we'd bring it every time.

Without knowing if the canvas has grommets or other means for attachment it’s hard to be specific.
Can use rebar, 12 inch nails, lag bolts ...
Lots of ways to do it.
