Rules about FLying vehicles

Of course the OP could be charged with operating a "civil aircraft for which there is not currently in effect an airworthiness certificate." Or they could be grounded because their flying machine made so much dust the operator can't safely navigate. Flying gasoline tanks over crowds, operating near an airport, or 800W 1hp could limit you. I doubt you can lift a person with 800W.

Drones have their own policy per FAA specific to Burning Man. Pre register etc. I'm working on it now so will see how it goes

I know they restrict the weight and altitude in reference to the ground. However, if they create specific rules for the event, then what are those rules?

There is also minimum horizontal distance from people, and recording image consent, and lots of other things. I got in trouble once with my Mavic pro.

Personal comment: I kinda understand the rules and the idea, but they are so limiting that if we follow them to the letter we completelly exclude drones. Plus that the drones are so capable that is very difficult to happen something if you follow the obvious precautions, and honestly the dust will completely destroy your drone if it is out of the self.

If you are operating something that could cause injury and will violate someones privacy you need to more than "kinda" understand the idea. Most people agree that drone rules should be limiting. Other than the vocal minority of drone owners of course.
