So Jerry, now that you're here and you've been welcomed by the best, tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? What inspires you? What instigated your desire to come to Black Rock City?jerrythegnome13 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 4:04 pmNice insult, I have been all over the website, youtube and other websites. Thanks again for clarifying this for me. I was just not sure for where to buy them and now I do.

Re: A dreamer's introduction
I am a Oregonian, a college student, and artist and most important--a dreamer. I have always been fascinated with the surreal, the things that you can't buy, the things that are only there for an instant, the things that go away from your vision when you are doing something you love whether it be extreme sports, looking at art, doing art or a multitude of other things. For me Burning Man is one of those because for some reason the art and the alkalinized desert seem to have symbiotic relationship in which at the end of Burning Man everything goes back to once it once was; Desert, leaving no trace of the life that was there. I have never been to Burning Man obviously because if I have I wouldn't have asked this question. I learned about Burning Man either from Ted Talks or Malcom in the Middle. (I do not remember) Where I live is a society in which the culture is very mundane in terms of what people do for fun, the clothes, what they listen to, what they laugh at etc. I have never fit in this tightly knit jock-esque culture and therefore went into the extreme sports culture where I feel a little bit more normal. I want to go Burning Man to see the art, the people and hopefully meet people who have a closer mindset to mine.Sham wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 5:00 pmSo Jerry, now that you're here and you've been welcomed by the best, tell us a bit about yourself. Re: A dreamer's introduction
The immediacy of a city of 70,000 people that only exists for a week is quite amazing. Like so many first timers who have read as much as they could, looked at countless photos and viewed hours of eye popping videos, once you arrive you'll realize it's nothing like you expected. You will be finding like minded creative people who are fun to be around. Every mundane line that's in the default world is going to be moved off the charts.
Prepare the best you can and we will hopefully see you in the dust in 5 months.

Re: A dreamer's introduction
Jerry, do your best not to take many of us too seriously. I mean, have you ever really seen anyone's eyes pop out just because they were watching a video?
Know this. If you cannot shed the constraints of the default world, then you may overlook what Burning Man is all about.
Our first burn was in 2016. We missed 17 and 18 due to hurdles the default world placed on top of and in front of us. All I can say is, it changed us forever. When you first arrive and hear the phrase, "Welcome home!", you will wonder and maybe even giggle a bit about what that means. By the end of the event, if you understand it, then you will surely be hooked,...forever.
Good luck in acquiring tickets!

I would like to treat my gas pedal as a binary operator and get the cooperation of everyone in front of me!

Moderator's note: I split the ticket portion off and put it in Ticket Discussion, where is it a better fit.

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
