Boundries, The Self, and Burning BRAIN

Post by joeyd » Wed Aug 17, 2005 3:31 pm

You wonder...

what is burning brain...

what cures burning brain....

then you are riding on the playa and the magical snowcone-cycler comes about and feeds you the wealth of the gods.

Cured.

And as for myself, i am especially happy to be going this year. "Stoked" as you may. Again another opportunity to throw my body into the lions pit laced with blinking lights and innuendo. I had an off year last year and really it was me not having enough rest and water and too much going on before i got there... so i felt like i wasn't quite in the moment most of the time and watched the week pass me by more often than not.

This will not happen again.

Burning man to me is a chance for a lot of things. I think it's very much open ended to your perception and my own perceptions have found that coincidence and what you really need to experience happens. Last year i was sleeping like i had all the time in the world, not really taking advantage of life in the present moment. A shitty lesson for burning man, but all the more powerful. I am looking forward to all the opportunity to break boundries, to find what keeps me from having a good time in those off moments, what keeps me from being happy? We are graced with a place where your entire experience is up to you. You can choose to go adventure, meet people, try new things upon new things, let go, let go, and let go, and all the while testing yourself with the elements, relaxing away from responsibility, and connecting to wonderful people in a raw experience...whether comical or spiritual.

Burning man is not anything in particular. It is nothing but what you make of it. And whatever you bring to the playa will have it's own form there. Either encouraging you or putting it in your face.......

so while i find meaning from all these things, that is what i bring there, and i'm positive that to very many there is not any of what i say. but i just found myself excited as all hell, as i've been for quite some time, and wanting to share this view and hear other's views on this.

Especially with boundries i believe. The social, sexual, emotional, logical, etc boundries we have setup in ourselves are only meant to be battered there until all is let go. There is something to test each of these, something to make you think twice for a minute.....the first year i went i was like, "hey, this is like natural lsd!"

It's easy to run there from your lessons, but from my experience they'll find their way through at some point,...and lessons aren't necessarily bad experiences but rather that they cultivate into yourself, and you can chooses to struggle or just swallowwwww

i'm excited to let go more
i'm excited to be myself without the tugs and pulls of urban life
i'm excited to express myself loudly at any time, in any place, in any way i like.
i'm excited to do this with others doing the same, and often doing more

much love and blessings on everyone's preparations, journey up and back, and experience on the playa
