Seeking Ride for Gear from SF

Post by strippertrash » Fri Jun 21, 2019 2:58 pm

Hello friendly humans!

My sweetheart and I are taking the Burner Express and are looking for a way to get some extra gear to the Playa.

We are prepared to survive the week with only what we can bring on the BxB if necessary (2 large pieces of luggage and 1 carry on per person + bikes), but would like to bring a couple of "luxury items" if possible. We are planning on bringing a 3m canvas tent, small sail shade structure, and a small/medium cooler. Camp chairs and rug would be an added bonus. We are flexible in terms of space needed and which of these items are transported via rideshare.

Is anyone in SF able to help with this? Of course compensation for gas/ space is a given!

Edit: We are leaving SF on Monday 8/26 and returning Monday 9/2

Beware, hooking back up at the end of the event for the return home with your stuff is often difficult-to-impossible.
Hell, hooking up with your stuff on arrival is pretty hard sometimes.
I’ve been on those searches before.

Just a friendly word of caution, separating yourself from your gear is a risk.

Yes, what the good captain has said. 70,000 people all camping "somewhere". When you realize there are 50+ miles of streets in the neighborhoods, and the person you're looking for is driving a silver Subaru--or something, you're not going to easily locate them. Don't figure on getting your tent until you get home and they drop it off at your house.

Heya! We're planning on a 9-foot cargo van for a couple of bigger items (ie yurt) but will likely have some extra space if you're willing to throw in a little cash towards gas/rental. We live in SF and will be camping out in the suburbs, so probably easier to find us upon arrival/departure than if we were in a big crowded camp somewhere. Let me know if you're interested in seeing if our timing/logistics line up!
