Re: Have you taken BXB from BRC to SF on a Monday?
I have not personally but about 4-5 years ago a very good friend did and it took about 10.5 to get to the drop location. It was on a Monday and the took whatever bus was around 11 AM.

Seeing as the winds usually blow from the city towards deep playa I would tell mother nature she's a bitch for blowing that shit back your way.zooms up outside the fence and cuts a "J" shaped turn, kicking up a cloud of dust... which then drifts our way.

Have you tried signing in with your burner profile email address (which is usually the same as the ticketing email address)? The password appears to be independent between the two. My burner profile PW is XXXXXX and my ticketing PW is YYYYYYY (and the PW reset process does work).

Re: Storage container as art, placed in deep playa?
The short version is that if it is part of org related shipping container program it will get dropped at an assigned city street location where a camp would camp. If it were going to be dropped in open playa that location would need to be assigned and marked. There is no way HEAT is going to just dr...

with "Vault Of Heaven" as the theme, the streets were named for the planets and order of their distance from the sun. The planet names and clock face designations were used in '99 as well (Wheel of Time). https://z9hbb3mwou383x1930ve0ugl-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/wheel_time...

Re: Shipping 1-ton van from San Jose to BRC?
For the ticket, Im thinking because there are ins and outs for BRC, I could buy somebody's unnamed legitimate ticket stub, an unused vehicle pass; go to the gate and pay the $20 re entry fee to enter BRC mid-week, as I understand the rules (rules might be different or changed). Yeah - no! You don't...

Spoiler alert
It ends with a case of dehydration where the person's water bottle did not have detailed instructions as to how to use the damn thing and drink water.

Seems like they did a better job last year, only took like 45 mins... I would think the greeters giving out the event guides could just as easily have tix available... scan their ID then hand them a ticket... Except the greeters giving out the event guides are after you pass through the gate, will ...

I've noticed this too, for some reason everybody thinks they need a camp to camp. I can't answer as to why but I will support the fact that it seems to be an ever increasing need for some folks.

Unless you have 2 spares, skip Jungo Road.
Hell, even if you have 2 spares, in anything other than a 4x4 I would avoid it. It may be shorter mileage wise but it won't be shorter time wise.

I don't know where we are on the skip cycle, I'd have to look it up. If it's low then CB is a great way to go on the playa. Cheap, readily available, simple, and no license. Wow... it never occurred to me before (I've been out of radio so long) but I bet you could DX like crazy from the playa. High...

It won't save you and will probably make things worse. You should stop thinking already.sparr wrote: I don't have to know about a stowaway in the future to decide that printing a counterfeit ticket today is a good idea to protect myself if I end up surprised by a stowaway in 3 weeks.

I think the phrase is the "smell test". As much as one may want to play semantics arguing allowed entry, there are as many options to deny entry. Do the scenarios presented pass the smell test? The answer to that would most likely determine the outcome. Trying to prank the pranksters can lead to int...

I tried calling on MURS 5 once (during the early Thursday dust storm) and didn't hear any response; I also tried calling Art Support on MURS 4 while we were setting up at the Midway and got nothing back. Perhaps the BMORG should post what tones and whatnot to set one's radio to, as the Dakota MURS ...

It's a crap shoot. There is noy way to answer your question. There will be lines. There will be wait times. It's unavoidable for the timeframe you are referencing.
Even if there was a magic time everybody would then aim for that time and then it would be unmagic.

What date are you planning to arrive? Is Gate Road as zoo-like as normal access has been described to be? Do they reduce the number of lanes/greeters/etc. so it's just as slow as normal access? It depends on when you are arriving. Are Will-Call hours restricted? Some of the team carpooling with me h...
