Comfortable, less expensive motel in Reno?

Post by phil » Thu May 26, 2011 7:08 pm

We've stayed at the Desert Rose for years, but it's become a weekly SRO motel.

Anybody know of a similar, inexpensive motel with ground floor rooms and street level parking lot?

Sands Regency. Because we care, check out the deal that Barbie Death Camp laid out for all of you. Oh sure, do we ever get thanks? Of course not. But damn it, we care. I mean come on, ice machines, jacuzzi, steam room, two queen beds in every room, plenty of free parking, and within walking distance of the Little Nugget to get an Awful Awful. If you're still too retarded to figure it out, PM me.

AFTER Burning Man?
Even the worst place would seem like luxury.

No, we're looking for a cheap night in Reno before we head to the playa. We drive from the Bay Area to Reno, spend the night, then head out to the playa.

I got a room pre and post burn at the Grand Sierra for $29 through Hotwire. I stayed there 2 years ago and it was really nice. Post-burn I went to the desk and told them I didn't want to be on the pool-side of the hotel (think thumping techno base) and they gave me a free upgrade to a suite and gave me a coupon for a free upgrade on my next visit.

Don't forget the awful breakfast special for 2 bucks. Two eggs two pancakes, thats the shit.

Needless to say, my convoy will be partying at the sands pre-burn night. Thank you Sir Pyro!

The Sands from what I heard is pretty good. Last I checked it was $29 a night and a lot newer than the circus circus.

The Sands - you get what you pay for. It's a big high-rise casino.

Motel 6 - you can park right in front of your room (ask for the first floor), it's also cheap, and you can load up on their free ice for coolers.

The Motel 6 off the freeway in Reno is a SHITHOLE, and coming from me, that's saying something.

The Sands however, is party time excellent. I'm trying to rage the night before, not get a good nights sleep.

Now wait a minute. I was told that BDC has harvested all the bedbugs out of the Sands for their Thursday night "ritual".

What hotel does everyone party at? I'm assuming all of them to some degree, but I wanted to stay somewhere centralized for easy party access.

Making babies in a sands regency bed bug infested room sounds like good times. Count me in.
