Celebrities @ BM

Post by oliverstwists » Tue Jul 27, 2004 11:33 pm

I'm sure I'll get a knock or two from this post.
Just curious as to if anyone has seen any celebs at BM in the past?
I was told that Perry Ferrell of Jane's Addiction attended one year.

The Playa is a vast place. You'll appreciate that vastness if the Queen or any other celebrity shows up.

I have said it before and I will see it again

WHO CARES!

Celebrities are people like EVERYONE else. They eat, sleep and piss, they work for there money ( most of the time ).

You dont see people on the Eplaya asking if they ever saw Tears at Burning Man.

:!: grr these type of boards are the only ones that really pinch a nerve with me :!:

As much as I could probably agree with some of the replys regarding celebrities, I'm amazed at the closed-minded and snotty attitude that some of you are bringing to Burning Man.

The amount of condescension and philosphical snobbery on this board is unbelievable.

Don't let the "snotty" attitude put you in a twist there Oliver. I suppose what you are getting is that people who are comfortable with themselves do not tent to put a "CELEBRITY" above themselves. They are people like the rest of us and do not want to be treated any differently should they decide to attend such an event. I have worked in the music Industry for 20 years and met hundreds of "STARS" and believe me they HATE it when they are made out to be some kind of GOD.... makes them feel like they are not human. The Closed Minded people you speak of are much more aware of this that you understand. They actually do have thier heads on right... Maybe you should look in the mirror and see if you are the one who is not seeing it right.... We don't care about such menial things as "STARS" only the ones in the sky at night......

I haven't mentioned anything about anyone being above anyone else. You've made a lot of silly assumptions about my simple query, this pissing match isn't worth my time.

Peace.

Wouldn't it be hysterical if two socks were bickering with each other? Even funnier if those hands belonged to the same entity. Just sayin'.

I'm a celebrity, I'll be there, so is my boyfriend and he'll be there too. We can't say how it's gone in the past as this is our first year. We'll let you know how it goes for us this year though, OT. We'll be signing autographs at 8:30 daily. You may or may not recognize us.

Proof of sockness:

How many people do you know that use "Chowder" as a sign off? Might want to be a little more careful about that in the future, Vancouver boy.

Good one Selkie! I thought the 'chowder' was weird too, but it was more out of concern for chickenfish...

The second I saw "Chowder" it rang a bell with me and I went searching through the board for any other chowder references (Good search engine, btw. Found it right off the bat.).

Yeah, I'm kinda fond of chickenfish and would be very upset to find him/her in any kind of soup. Not that I would eat it. I'm not a fish eater. Like to watch 'em swim more than sit on a plate.

Guess that makes me not a very good seal-lady. :(

Isn't the point of Burning Man that we are all celebrities there?

Everybody Is A Star
Sly And The Family Stone

Everybody is a star
Who can rain, chase the dust away
Everybody wants to shine
Ooh, come out on a cloudy day
'Til the sun that loves you proud
When the system tries to bring you down
Every hand to shine tonight
You don't need darkness to do what you think is right

Ba pa-pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Everybody is a star
I can feel it when you shine on me
I love you for who you are
Not the one you feel you need to be
Ever catch a falling star
Ain't no stopping 'til it's in the ground
Everybody is a star
One big circle going round and round

Ba pa-pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Ba pa-pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Ba pa-pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba, shine, shine, shine, shine

(repeat and fade)

When you wish upon a star
Dreams will take you very far, yeah
When you wish upon a dream
Life ain´t always what it seems, oh yeah
Once you see your light so clear
In the sky so very dear

You´re a shining star, no matter who you are
Shining bright to see what you can truly be

Shining star come into view
Shine is watchful light on you, yeah
Gives you strength to carry on
Make your body big and strong
Future roads for you to pass
Love to watch your mug past

The shining star, lucky you
The sinful redeeming shall be true
On an adventure of the sun, yeah
Yeah it´s all awake and just begun
Yeah, thought I had to stir the mood
That´s it now I got my own oh yeah

So if you find yourself in need
Why don´t you listen to his words of heat
Be a child free of sin
Be some place, yes I can
Words of Wisdom: Yes I can

You´re a shinig star, no matter who you are
Shining bright to see what you can truly be
You´re a shinig star, no matter who you are
Shining bright to see what you can truly be

Shining star for you to see, what your life can truly be
Shining star for you to see, what your life can truly be
Shining star for you to see, what your life can truly be!!!!!!

Yeah, I fucking love disco.

What do you think about this lyric though:

"Future roads for you to pass
Love to watch your mug past "

watch your mug past?! Your face? Your mug of coffee? The number of syllables isn't even the same. I think the lyric master was having trouble deciphering that one.
