I have no problem with this, but I believe it already exists in the form of stick posts. The problem is that people "can't or don't" look for it.

Yeah but if newcomers were willing to search, this place or Google, then none of this would be an issue. Since they can't, or don't, and there are problems with people angry at the constant stream of answered questions, that's why I think one area with all the usual questions linked to answers is worth considering.

One additional point to make regarding the attitude and perceived difficulty of this board.

If a newbie gets butthurt and annoyed over how they are treated on the board for doing something "dumb", how well are they going to deal with the environment out on the Playa?

You could look at learning how to get by on this board as being a "Rite of Passage" or even a good way to gauge the personality and adaptability of potential burners. I've seen many new burners accepted and welcomed as well as people who I hope will change their mind and not attend, or if they do attend, I hope never to meet them in BRC.

I'm not a new member that needs answers nor was I looking for them, which shows how well you comprehend things before launching a barrage of ignorant piss. I said it's not clear enough to new members where to get the answers - which is demonstrably true - and that we could do more to help them find those answers, which would alleviate the anger veterans feel when asked the same shit over and over. Whether or not you think virgins should find the thread themselves is irrelevant, they're not finding the answers often enough, so we can consider ways to improve that or we can let things get worse. It seems pointless to even mention that a 15 page thread is not an effective, user-friendly way to display questions and answers.

Belittling inexperience, as if no-one's ever made stupid mistakes planning for their first year, is bullying. This is all playa practice and if people don't like it then they shouldn't attend? More excuses from bullies trying to justify their shitty attitudes and behavior. You might say, like Jkisha, that new members should grow a backbone or fuck off, but isn't that the problem summed up right there? Radical rejection by an elitist few, who feel entitled to set the agenda. MODERATORS should be setting the agenda, and not giving a shit if someone is upset because their stupid trolling post was removed.

Jkisha, maybe you're right, I don't have the 'backbone' to enjoy this and should probably fuck off. I'm taking Eric's advice and building an FAQ that I'll host on my server, and will post the URL once it's ready. Since forum threads can move or vanish, it will all be hard coded text rather than links to eplaya. Hopefully it can lead to less virgins bugging you all, which will be good for you, and them.
